Welcome to Saint Cecilia
If you are hoping to find a faith community with whom you can discover God through worship, community, and the service of others, you’re in the right place.
We are a vibrant, progressive Catholic community, established in 1888 and located in the heart of Boston. We foster strong lay leadership and are blessed with a community that gives generously of its time, talent, and treasure in order to help shape our shared life.
Among us are parishioners from around the corner and around the world, representing the diversity of our church. Our parish community includes grandparents, single adults, married couples, young families, teenagers, and college students. We are an LGBTQ+ affirming church that seeks to be a spiritual home for all people, wherever they are on their spiritual journey. We value our human diversity and strive to learn from one another. What we share in common is a commitment to the gospel message of Christian love, social justice, and radical hospitality.
There isn’t anyone here who isn’t needed and whose gifts can’t be put to use. If any of this sounds inviting, we welcome you to join us for worship and Sunday hospitality. Be yourself—there is room here for the individual, the activist, the thinker, and the questioner. At Saint Cecilia we have a story to tell and welcome you to join us and add to that story. You will receive a warm welcome here.
The church is fully accessible by elevator at both the street level entrance on Belvidere Street (at the front of the building), and at the entrance on the corner of St. Cecilia Street and Scotia Street (the left side of the building).
